Councillors carry naloxone kits to help save lives
Glasgow councillors are being trained to use Naloxone - a drug which can help prevent fatal overdoses.
Glasgow’s Health Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) arranged training following a visit to the city’s North East Recovery Community by Councillor Declan Blench, chair of the North East Area Planning Partnership.

Glasgow Marks Carers Rights Day 2022
On Thursday 24 November, we marked Carers Rights Day and raised awareness of the unsung heroes of our communities, unpaid carers.
This year, the campaign focused on the many ways in which caring costs affect unpaid carers – from carers’ wellbeing and ability to access health services, to costs to their finances and employment options, to the current cost of living crisis that’s being felt even more acutely by carers throughout the UK.

Glasgow City HSCP Buildings / Services Open to the Public During the Holiday Period
Over the festive period all public social work offices will remain open between 08:45am to 4.45pm (Monday to Thursday) and 08.45am to 3.55pm (Friday) but will be closed on the following public holidays:
Nativity Scene Brings Christmas Cheer to Residents at Meadowburn Care Home in Pollok.
A beautiful nativity scene, on display in the foyer of Meadowburn Care Home in Pollok, is bringing Christmas cheer to our HSCP’s care home residents.
A wooden stable and manger built by Meadowburn’s Operations Manager Paul Costello houses nativity figures including Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus in a manger, a sheep, donkey and cow overlooked by an angel, shepherd and three wise men.
Prisoner Training Programme Helping to Tackle Drug Issues in Scotland
A training programme helping prisoners to tackle drug issues has won several awards.
The programme picked up Volunteer of the Year at our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Staff Awards for Excellence in October 2022. It also received two awards at the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Public Health Directorate Excellence Awards 2022, for Volunteer of the Year and Innovation of the Year.
