Consultation on updated Integration Scheme

Glasgow City Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) are in the process of updating the current Integration Scheme for Health and Social Care services in Glasgow City.
    
The current Integration Scheme was agreed by the Scottish Parliament in June 2015. The Scheme is a legal agreement between the Council and the Health Board in Glasgow City, that outlines the services provided by Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and describes how they are planned, delivered and monitored locally.

In her last issue of Partnership Matters as our HSCP’s Chief Officer, Susanne Millar reflects in a video message about her time in Social Work and then the HSCP before she takes up her new role of Chief Executive of Glasgow City Council. Also featured this month, our Staff Awards for Excellence 2024 took place which recognise and celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’. Our residential Care Homes have launched “Meaningful Connections” which aims to create positive connections for the residents with family, friends, staff and their local community.

Working in the Safer Drug Consumption Facility in Scotland

The Safer Drug Consumption Facility (SDCF) in Glasgow offers a unique harm reduction approach in Scotland in response to the increased mortality and morbidity associated with injecting drug use as recommended by “Taking Away the Chaos” (NHS GG&C 2016).

The Glasgow SDCF will provide hygienic environments where illicit drugs (purchased off the premises) can be consumed under clinical supervision with the onsite availability of sterile injecting equipment, advice on injecting technique, overdose assistance, on-site health & social service.
