Partnership project shows the importance of good data collection in predicting and preventing falls
For most of us if we’re healthy, falling over can lead to a skint knee, and if it happens in public, maybe a bit of embarrassment.
However, for some people, the lasting effects can be much more serious, leading to hospitalisation and often the beginning of a cycle of poor health or even a loss of their independence at home. Injuries caused by falls are a leading cause of hospital admission and death for those aged over 75. On average, there are over 4,000 hospital admissions in Glasgow each year due to a fall.
New Multiple Risk Curricular Resource for schools
A new resource for education staff looking at risk taking behaviours in pupils is now available for Glasgow schools.
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)’s Youth Health Improvement Team recently launched the Multiple Risk Curricular Resource: Which Way, for use with pupils in P7 and S2.

Care in Partnership interns share their story in new video
After completing the Care in Partnership course in February 2024, 11 student interns have successfully secured a permanent job with our Glasgow City Health and Social Partnership (HSCP).
Parkhead Hub - April 2024 Update
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Parkhead Hub Health and Care Centre construction will be completed in August. The new Hub will integrate health, social care and community facilities, including a cafe and Parkhead Library.
Parkhead Hub Update – February 2024
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) new Parkhead Hub Health and Care Centre construction is progressing well. The building is now wind and watertight and the Main Contractor BAM is making good progress with the building services and internal fit-out. Many of the standard rooms are now substantially complete with the contractor now focusing their efforts on the circulation, atria and courtyard spaces.
Update on the New Parkhead Hub
An improved health and social care facility for people in the North East of Glasgow has moved a step closer. Building work on the new Parkhead Hub started on site in March 2022 and it’s due to open in 2024.
The Hub is being built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital and current Sandyford, Anvil Centre and Parkhead Health Centre at Salamanca Street.
