Glasgow City HSCP Home Care services hosted an afternoon tea for service users aged 100 and over on Thursday 29 August. 

Held in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum cafe, Lord Provost Eva Bolander, Councillor Mhairi Hunter, Vice-Chair, Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and Susanne Millar, Interim Chief Officer, Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership were among the guests for afternoon tea with the celebrants.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership Staff in conjunction with Glasgow University, joined Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council on World Suicide Prevention Day, Tuesday 10 September 2019, to highlight Suicide Prevention work in Glasgow.

Speaking to over 80 people at the City Chambers Dr Trevor Lakey, Health Improvement and Inequalities Manager, spoke about the National Suicide Prevention Action Plan and.Glasgow City multi agency suicide prevention work.

Partnership staff had their achievements recognised at the Glasgow City HSCP Staff Awards for Excellence 2019 on 19 September. The Awards celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’ in their work in a number of categories. 

In total seventy-six nominations were received from across Glasgow City HSCP.  

The winners and commendations were as follows:

The 2019 COSLA Excellence Awards were held on Thursday 10 October in St. Andrew’s. The awards celebrate the very best in Scottish local government.

Two services from Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) were shortlisted for the awards. These were Tomorrow’s Women Glasgow and the Recovery Communities, with Tomorrow’s Women Glasgow winning Category 2: Achieving Better Outcomes in Partnership.

A report of the research carried out last year by Snook, funded by the Carnegie UK Trust, in relation to Digital Resilience was approved by Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s Professional Governance Board.  The report is now available.  Carnegie Trust think this research will be useful to organisations across the UK who have similar challenges.

Partnership Staff win Improving Health Award at NHSGGC Chairman's Awards

Partnership staff Rachel Bruce, lead pharmacist, and Chrissie Stuart, a practice nurse, won the Chairman’s Improving Health Category Gold Award for the More than Medicine project based at Crail GP practice, North East Locality.

The Improving Health Category commends staff who have a Healthy Working Lives idea or have implemented an initiative to improve healthy eating, smoking cessation or improving mental health.

Scottish Creative Award for Fostering Campaign

The Partnership’s Families for Children Team was recently awarded the Best Online Campaign at the Scottish Creative Awards for their recent #opentofostering campaign. It was also Highly Commended in the Creative Strategy category - Integrated Strategy.

Cathy Coll, Service Manager at Families for Children, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award. Having previously run several campaigns we were able  to use our experience to plan our new campaign. We focused on cost effective digital advertising which has the advantage of being easy to analyse.”

The Consultation Period for the Carers Eligibility Criteria is now finished. Following the consultation, a report was prepared and submitted, along with the proposed Eligibility Criteria, to the Glasgow City Integration Joint Board on 24 January 2018.  The report and Eligibility Criteria were approved at this meeting.
