New dedicated Community Assessment Centres (CACs) have opened across Greater Glasgow and Clyde to help combat COVID-19 by providing a more streamlined service to assess people presenting symptoms.

Families are being encouraged to plan for the future by obtaining Power of Attorneys (POA) to protect the wishes of relatives and friends in the event of illness or accidents.

1-7 June marks the 35th annual National Volunteers' Week, a celebration  across the UK of all the fantastic contributions volunteers

Staff from care homes across Glasgow came together in April to share their experience of participating in the Red Bag Scheme.

Staff, service users, carers, community representatives and others came together at a South Locality Engagement Session on 26th February to discuss developments in older people’s health and care services.  

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership North West Locality Engagement Forum (LEF) members met with representatives of the wider community and speakers at the Albany Centre on the 31 January 2019 to discuss and focus on Older People’s services in North West Glasgow.

The new £17 million Gorbals Health and Care Centre opened its doors to the local community for the first time this week.Work began in June 2017 on the new modern facility providing improved access to a range of community and primary care services.

The planned opening date of the new Gorbals Health and Care Centre is Monday, 21 January 2019. Plans are now underway for the transfer of services from the current Health Centre, Twomax building and Southbank Centre to the new Health and Care Centre.

Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. To mark this event and thank their volunteers North West Locality staff organised an award ceremony and lunch for volunteers followed by a visit to the Tall Ship, Riverside.
