North West staff participate in Red Nose Day

Published:

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership staff based in the Partick office in the North West recently joined in on the Red Nose Day fun on 15 March 24.

Dawn Campbell, Team Leader was the force behind organising the event and colleagues were happy to be involved in raising money for a worthwhile cause. Some of the activities organised in the office included:

  • a cake bake sale (including cakes baked by staff who have never baked before)
  • selling raffle tickets / prizes
  • guess the baby competition

Lisa Leslie, Service Manager also played a part on the day. Staff donated money to have Lisa answer phones for one hour and also work on reception for an hour. Lisa was a great sport and was happy to join in by answering phones and working on reception. Everyone agreed she did a great job.

Staff had a great day and continued the fund raising into the evening by holding a quiz – the highlight of the day.  The quiz was organised by Team Leader, Bruce Milne. Bruce was the quiz master supreme and kept the quizzers in line and tested staff knowledge on red nose day history, sport, general knowledge, music and many other topics. The quiz was won by the team called ‘Never Gonna Quiz You Up’ (we’ve obviously got some secret Rick Astley fans among our staff).

As well as having some fun on the day, staff increased their general knowledge, learned some baking skills and were able to raise a fantastic sum of £530.

Comic Relief, the organisation behind Red Nose Day, supports local community organisations here in the UK and across the globe. The money raised on Red Nose Day helps fill the shelves of baby banks, community food centres, fund vital community-led services like health workers and local youth safe-spaces and ensures safe passage for people escaping danger.

A fantastic effort from all and well done everyone.
