Work Set to Begin on New £72 Million Health and Care Hub for Glasgow’s East End

Work on a new £72 million health and care centre for the north east of Glasgow will begin in spring, after the Scottish Government gave final approval for the ambitious project.

The North East Hub in Parkhead, will be Scotland’s first working net zero carbon health and social care facility.

Giving up smoking is not something you have to do on your own. With the right support, it can increase your chance of quitting.

Health Improvement Annual Report 2020 to 2021 Now Available

The latest annual report highlighting the work of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Health Improvement Team is now available.

The report provides an insight into the progress made by Health Improvement around improving health and reducing health inequalities during 2020/21. 

HSCP Staff Recognised at Recent Awards

Several Glasgow City HSCP staff and teams have been shortlisted for Awards over the last few months.

The NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) Excellence Awards. These Awards are for individual members of staff, teams or projects that have identified ways to deliver improvements that benefit patients and service uses, colleagues or NHSGGC. There are eight categories of Awards which were presented at the Celebrating Success Awards event on 23 February 2022.

Raising Awareness of Cancer Screening Programmes with BME Residents/Patients

Animations have been developed to raise awareness of the Breast, Bowel and Cervical national cancer screening programmes for BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) residents/patients/ community organisations. 

Our take up rates for cancer screening are currently lower for BME patients so the animations are targeted to contribute to reducing this health inequality.

HSCP Complex Needs Service launched in Glasgow

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is launching its innovative Complex Needs Service on 14 March 2022.

Complex Needs is a brand new model that will provide a specialist, highly personalised service for individuals presenting with multiple and complex health and social care needs who aren’t able to engage with mainstream services in Glasgow. The Complex Needs Service will be the interface between Homelessness, Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services, Mental Health and Justice Services in Glasgow City. 

COVID-19 Message from Susanne Millar - March 2022

Glasgow City HSCP Nurses Chosen for Prestigious QNIS Development Programme

Two Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) nurses have recently begun the prestigious Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland (QNIS) development programme. 

The QNIS is a charitable organisation that has been promoting excellence in community nursing to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland since 1889. Their aim is to equip nurses with the education, skills and confidence they need to help people achieve better health and wellbeing, as well as championing nurses as advocates for quality health and care needs.
