The Wellbeing Cities Award, organised by NewCities in partnership with Novo Nordisk, the City of Montréal, the Toyota Mobility Foundation, and Transdev, recognises cities across the world which are placing their residents' wellbeing at the heart of urban policy and planning - and Glasgow is one of them.

With the outbreak of COVID 19, Glasgow City HSCP’s Children and Families Health Visiting Teams in South Glasgow have adapted practice to meet the needs of families. This has included new and innovative ways of working.

When Scotland was put into lock down, new mums and new-borns had limited contact with the outside world. The teams worried that the lack of support for families may lead to feelings of isolation, potentially increasing mental health problems for new mothers which has a negative impact on infant health.

Live Music a Boost for Patients and Staff

You would have been forgiven for thinking you had wandered into a live gig in Kelvingrove Park, if you had been walking through the Gartnavel Royal Hospital campus on Thursday 13 August.

Local musician and a regular performer within the Art in the Gart creative volunteer programme, Charlie Gorman performed his show, “Gorman on the Green”, to an outdoor audience of patients and staff from the hospital’s Kelvin ward and Clyde ward.
