Glasgow opens UK's first safer drug consumption facility
The UK’s first safer drug consumption facility opened in Glasgow on 13 January.
Based at the Hunter Street Health and Care Centre, the facility – to be known as The Thistle – will operate daily from 9am to 9pm, 365 days of the year.

SDCF - Background information
There are over 100 Safer Drug Consumption Facilities (SDCF) worldwide including Europe, North America and Australia.
SDCFs offer a compassionate, person-centred service which focuses on reducing the harms associated with injecting drug use and helps people access appropriate services to meet their needs.
