Physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for the usual ways in which Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) seeks the views and experiences of people who access our health and care services.
To keep engaging with local people, our HSCP’s Community Engagement staff have been running Locality Engagement Forum (LEF) sessions online as a safer way to meet with people and gather their views on our health and social care services.
Growing Well Together at Shields Community Garden
A community garden, which was established as part of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Shields Health and Care Centre, has been a sanctuary to people struggling with their mental health, isolation or loneliness.
The garden is an oasis of green tranquility in the heart of Pollokshields. It has raised beds for vegetable growing, fruit bushes, a mini-orchard and a border with a variety of plants traditionally used for maintaining health.

Glasgow's COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Centres
Glasgow has five COVID-19 mass vaccination centres which are all wheelchair accessible.
Vaccination centres are operated by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and it is the NHS who will invite you to an appointment at a vaccination centre (not the council).

New £67million Health and Social Care Hub for North East Glasgow backed by Scottish Government
Plans for a new £67 million health and care hub for the North East of Glasgow have moved a step closer.
The Scottish Government has today approved the Outline Business Case for the new North East Hub Health and Care Centre which will be built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital.
Leverndale Hospital Praised for Pandemic Care
The efforts of staff to continue to provide excellence in care at an adult mental health ward at Leverndale Hospital in Glasgow during the pandemic have been praised by Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland.
The Commission inspected the rehabilitation ward within the hospital and spoke to staff and patients to better understand how care has been managed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The ward is an 11-bedded mixed-sex ward, providing intensive rehabilitation and recovery care and treatment to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems.

Staff Help Sadie Celebrate her 100th Birthday
Sadie Barclay, a service user at Glasgow City HSCP’s Glenwood Day Care Centre in Castlemilk, Glasgow, recently celebrated her 100th birthday. As the centre is currently closed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), staff members Anne Lowe, Day Care Supervisor; Naomi Lever, Day Care Worker; and Robert Barnes, Driver decided to visit her outdoors at her home to mark the occasion.
Susanne Praises HSCP Staff as She’s Confirmed as Chief Officer
Susanne Millar has been appointed as Chief Officer of Glasgow City’s Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) after leading the organisation through its toughest ever year.
And one of her first acts after the Integration Joint Board confirmed her appointment to the role, which she has held on an interim basis since May 2019, was to praise the “truly exceptional” performance of HSCP staff throughout the pandemic.
