This month, from 6 – 11 September, Scotland is standing together during Suicide Prevention Week to raise awareness and shine a light on suicide and what we can do to keep each other safe.

The beginning of September saw the Compassionate Distress Response Service (CDRS), a support service for adults experiencing emotional distress, celebrate the first anniversary of its daytime support service.

Stewart Moore, Senior Learning and Development Officer within Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has been involved with suicide prevention efforts for over 40 years.

Following the roaring success of Meander 2019, Leverndale’s Design in the Dale Group was disappointed to have to pause last year’s event due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but Meander for Mental Health is back for 2021 and runs from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 September 2021. 

Knightswood Connects Community Project held a small summer gathering for residents over the age of 50. The afternoon event took place in an outside space at Knightswood Community Centre on 29 July.
 

Staff from Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Health Improvement Team have been working with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust to co-produce cervical cancer screening awareness videos to encourage women with learning disabilities to be tested.
