Chief Officer Visits Frontline Staff

Published:

During the summer months David Williams, Chief Officer, has been carrying out a number of visits to discuss and see first-hand the work frontline Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership staff are involved in.

With planned visits through July and early August, David has spent time with a number of groups. This has included:

  • talking to people who use the Northeast Recovery Café
  • listening to the Family Nurse Practice Team
  • accompanying Homelessness Staff in their duties and
  • watching the work of the Drug Court Multi-disciplinary Team.

Each visit has given David the chance to acknowledge the work going on in these teams and personally thank the staff involved.

Reflecting on his visits to this point, David remarked: “The involvement and dedication of Partnership staff in terms of health and social care provision in this city is absolutely incredible.  At one end of the spectrum we provide services that plan for the birth of vulnerable babies. At the other end we prepare individuals for their end of life care.  At each of these points, and at other stages in-between, we have dedicated staff who are working in and for the best interests of our citizens.”

“The visits made to date have given me the chance to personally thank staff from within the NHS, Council and the third sector for their work on behalf of the people of this city. I am also enthused by the breadth of genuine integrated working and innovative, sensitive provision that is being developed and delivered and are making a difference for those who need them.”
