Mental Health Nurses Day - Sunday 21 February 2021

Published: | Mental Health

National Mental Health Nurses Day on 21 February is an opportunity to promote and celebrate Mental Health Nursing in the UK, and recognise and thank nursing staff working in mental health services.

All health and social care staff have risen to the challenges of the Covid-19 Pandemic and it is for this reason it is additionally important to mark National Mental Health Nurses Day this Sunday 21 February.

Lorraine Cribbin, Acting Chief Nurse - Adult Services, Glasgow City HSCP said: “Mental Health Nurses please take a moment to stop, reflect and acknowledge each other. Congratulate each other on what you have achieved and continue to achieve. Be proud of your contribution in the continued delivery of compassionate, person centred, safe and effective care, which ensures the people who use Mental Health Services, who are some of the most vulnerable people in our society, have a positive and helpful experience."

Lorraine added: “I am very proud and thankful of having experienced a fantastic career in mental health nursing over the last 36 years. I would love to do it all over again. To all my mental health nursing colleagues I say enjoy your celebration on the 21st February - Thank you.”
