Share your views on our Day Care Centres for older people

Published: | Older People

As part of our vision to empower communities and help people live healthier, more fulfilled lives, our Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) launched a consultation to review the range of day services provided at the Day Care Centres for older people around the city.

Currently, we operate 10 Day Care Centres across the city, each offering a welcoming space for up to 30 older adults per day. These centres, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, provide vital support to service users by combatting loneliness, offering engaging activities and tailoring support for each individual attending the centre. You can find out more about our Day Care Centres by watching our short video.

In order to continue meeting the evolving needs of older citizens, we are now seeking feedback on whether the current services are continuing to offer the right range of supports.

We’re keen on everyone with an interest in health and social care, service users, family members and staff members to share their thoughts on what services should be provided, what can be improved and other views on the overall service.

The feedback will play a key role in planning and enhancing the services offered at these centres.

Robin Wallace, our HSCP’s Head of Residential and Day Care Services for Older People, said: “Our goal is to ensure that every older adult in Glasgow has access to the support they need to live vibrant, fulfilling lives. This consultation is a crucial step in making sure our Day Care Centres continue to meet the needs of our community. Whether you have direct experience with the Day Centres or simply care about the well-being of Glasgow's older adults, your input is invaluable in helping shape a brighter, healthier future for all.”

The consultation is open until Sunday, 1 September 2024 and you can share your views by completing the online survey
