Help to stop smoking is still at the end of the phone
Local NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGG&C) Quit Your Way stop smoking services are still operating across Glasgow. Staff from the South Health Improvement Team of Glasgow City HSCP have been working with Sunny Govan Radio to promote the service and let local people know how they can access help to quit.
The radio station has interviewed smoking cessation advisor Laura Sinclair to find out about how we are running the Quit Your Way service during lockdown and about how people are coping during the pandemic.
Laura explained: “The service offers telephone support from trained advisors and free products from local pharmacies. To access help to quit call free on 0800 916 8858, visit the Facebook page for NHSGG&C Quit Your Way or visit NHS Inform. We have recorded two ads for the service and these will now be played over a period of two months on the radio shows. We are also contacting previous clients from the services, encouraging people who have engaged with us before to come back if they need to.”
Heather Bath, Health Improvement Senior said: “We are delighted to be promoting local stop smoking services on Sunny Govan Radio. We want local people in all areas of Glasgow to know that the Quit Your Way stop smoking service is still available for them, and that they can get help to quit right now. They just have to call us on 0800 916 8858 or look us up on Facebook.”
