Come and Meander for Mental Health with us - Postponed until 15 October

Published: | Mental Health

Come and meander for Mental Health on the new date of Saturday, 15 October while exploring the beautiful grounds of Leverndale Hospital and surrounding green spaces. With free events and activities happening all day, from guided walks to face painting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Bring the family for our fun day, take part in guided walks on our medal walking routes or just wander in the outdoors.

The fun starts from 11.00am at the administration building (site entrance B), Leverndale Hospital and finishes at 4.00pm.

Meander for Mental Health is for members of the community, our patients, their families and staff from the hospital. You can come along by yourself or bring your friends and family.

We’ll have four led walks over the day on two of our routes – yellow route at 11am and 2pm and blue route at 1pm and 3pm. Walk maps are on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/meanderformentalhealth/

Please register for free at our Meander for Mental Health eventbrite link. Everyone who registers and completes a walk will receive a goodie bag including an event t-shirt.

Angela Watson, Physiotherapy Lead, Leverndale Hospital said: “September 10 was National Suicide Awareness Week, and we’re encouraging people to take care of their mental health by taking part in outdoor activity in local green spaces. There’s so much to see along the walk routes from Leverndale’s beautifully upgraded pathways, greenspaces and commissioned mural artworks. All walking routes start at Leverndale Hospital’s Gatehouse. We also have several activities booked for the day including a local fire engine, face painting, Nike Sports team, massage, live music and other stalls.”

Information on suicide prevention is available.
