Working with our providers of social care services
Over 100 people attended Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Provider Event on 19 June at Glasgow City Chambers. The event was aimed at providers of social care services, registered managers, HSCP senior management and HSCP commissioning staff.
Jackie Kerr, Interim Chief Officer of our HSCP welcomed participants and gave an update on the interim senior management structure, pressures, challenges and opportunities and the National Care Service.
Gary Dover, Assistant Chief Officer for Primary Care, Early Intervention and Commissioning, explained how we see provider organisations as equal partners in the provision of social care services. He explained how the Market Facilitation Plan for 2024 to 2026 was developed in consultation with providers.
He said: “The primary aim of the plan is to improve communication with the social care market and support providers of social care services to plan for future service delivery in Glasgow. Providers are encouraged to read, understand and get involved in the activity that comes from the delivery of this plan.”
The event continued with updates on the financial outlook by Sharon Wearing, Chief Officer Finance and Resources, and an information session on the benefits of Technology Enabled Care by Stephen Fitzpatrick, Assistant Chief Officer, Older People’s Services and South Operations.
After table discussions, Peter Orr, Head of Children’s Services for our North East locality, discussed some of the positive changes from the work of The Promise – Early Identification, Help and Support.
Sharon Wearing then closed the event thanking providers for being vital partners in supporting the health and social care needs of Glasgow, and asked them to contribute ideas for future events.
Congratulations also go to a number of Glasgow City HSCP commissioned providers that received recognition at the National Care at Home and Housing Support Awards in Glasgow on 17 May.
