Lessons Learned Review of the Alliance to End Homelessness aims to shape future homelessness strategies

Published:

In January 2024, our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) commissioned Rocket Science to conduct an independent lessons learned review of the Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness (GAEH).

The review, aimed at assessing the lessons learned during the Alliance's inception, delivery, and conclusion, has now been completed and the findings will help shape to shape future homelessness strategies in Glasgow.

Between February and March 2024, the Rocket Science review team gathered insights from a range of key stakeholders through three focus groups and six one-to-one interviews. In total, 35 individuals participated in the review process, including members of the GAEH Alliance Leadership Team (ALT), service providers, HSCP staff, and other key people involved in Glasgow's homelessness sector.

The review's data collection was extensive and aimed to capture a variety of perspectives from those who played critical roles throughout the life of the Alliance.

The report, while documenting individual experiences, serves as a foundation for future efforts to combat homelessness in Glasgow. Our HSCP and other key stakeholders will use the findings to refine strategies and approaches in the years ahead.

A participant said "This review marks a significant step in understanding what worked and what didn’t in our collective efforts to end homelessness in Glasgow. We value the input from all participants and will use these insights to inform our future direction."

As Glasgow continues its work to address homelessness, the lessons learned from the GAEH experience will serve as a critical reference point for ongoing and future initiatives aimed at providing sustainable solutions for one of the city’s most pressing social challenges.
