Learning about the Positives and Challenges of Implementing Housing First in Glasgow

A recent learning day is helping Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and our partners discuss the positives and challenges of Housing First in Glasgow. 

Housing First is a rapid rehousing approach to tackling homelessness amongst people with complex needs, such as mental health or addiction issues. Secure tenancies and intensive support are provided to assist some of the city's most vulnerable people to rebuild their lives, sustain their tenancies and improve their physical and mental health.

Update on the New Parkhead Hub

An improved health and social care facility for people in the North East of Glasgow has moved a step closer. Building work on the new Parkhead Hub started on site in March 2022 and it’s due to open in 2024.

The Hub is being built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital and current Sandyford, Anvil Centre and Parkhead Health Centre at Salamanca Street. 

Partnership Outreach Programme Helps Break Cycle of Offending

The Positive Outcomes Project (POP) is a partnership-based outreach team that is making a difference to those who find themselves in a cycle of offending due to alcohol and/or drug dependency. 

The POP team consists of three Addiction Social Care Workers from our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) as well as two officers from Police Scotland and a Sacro lived experience Peer Mentor.
