Invitation to Apply for Mental Health Anti-Stigma Small Bids Fund

Funding is now available to support statutory and voluntary organisations to provide programmes seeking to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people with poor mental health.

Anti-Stigma Programme (ASP) funding is through the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Healthy Minds Network, and organisations are invited to apply for up to £5,000 from the small bids fund until noon on Friday, 8 October 2021.

A vaccination clinic has been set up in Glasgow to provide COVID vaccinations for newly arrived asylum seekers.

The clinic, which recently welcomed the first vaccination patients to its base in Govan, is part of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Asylum Health Bridging Team, which provides a range of health services to some of Scotland’s most vulnerable communities.

Supporting Adults and Young People Experiencing Emotional Distress

The beginning of September saw the Compassionate Distress Response Service (CDRS), a support service for adults experiencing emotional distress, celebrate the first anniversary of its daytime support service. The service operates from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with referrals from General Practitioners (GPs) and their multi-disciplinary teams. 

Home Carer Completes Charity Sky Dive

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Home Carer Colin McKechnie recently completed a 10,000ft sky dive raising £900 for the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
 
Colin said: “In addition to my job as a Home Carer I also work as a Healthcare Support Worker in the Children’s Hospital. I previously spent nine years in the army and was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
