East Glasgow GP Staff win British Heart Foundation Team of the Year Award

Crail Medical Practice won the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Alliance Awards ‘Team of the Year’ Category for improving the health of heart patients. Winners were presented with a trophy and certificate at a ceremony on Tuesday 5 June 2018 at the British Cardiovascular Society Annual Conference 2018 in Manchester.

The team, who work in the Parkhead area of the city, which has higher than average rates of heart disease, have made huge efforts to engage with patients including setting up a weekly walking group.

Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. To mark this event and thank their volunteers North West Locality staff organised an award ceremony and lunch for volunteers followed by a visit to the Tall Ship, Riverside.

Another Successful Year Delivering Project Search

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership through the Supported Employment Service are a key partner in developing and delivering Project Search in Glasgow, an intensive work experience programme for young people with learning disabilities and / or an autistic spectrum condition. The goal of Project Search is to support all participants into full time paid employment and this is the fifth year the programme has been delivered in Glasgow.
