Glasgow celebrates its care experienced young people at Open Day 2024
Care Experienced Week 2024 runs from 19 to 26 October, and this national campaign signifies an annual opportunity to celebrate the Care Experienced community, championing their accomplishments and amplifying their voices.
One way that our Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) participates in the week each year is with our Open Day Care Leavers Celebration – an event that celebrates Glasgow’s care experienced individuals and highlights their achievements throughout the year.
New Mural Brings Life to Leverndale Hospital
A stunning new mural has been unveiled at Glasgow’s Leverndale Hospital as part of a wider project to transform the campus, improving both indoor and outdoor spaces, increasing greenspace and biodiversity and improving the environment for our patients, staff and the local community.

Balmore Ward gets excellent report from MWC Scotland
Glasgow City HSCP’s Balmore Ward at Levendale Hospital is a specialist dementia care unit, caring for older people with various types of dementia. The ward is subdivided into two self-contained single sex units, with eight beds in one ward and 10 beds in the other.
Balmore Ward was visited by the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland (MWCS) in November 2023. A report has now been issued commending staff on their work to meet recommendations from a previous visit in November 2022.

First ever outdoor art installation kicks off summer of greenspace development at Stobhill Mental Health Campus
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) has installed the first ever piece of outdoor art at Stobhill Hospital’s Mental Health Campus in Glasgow, signalling a summer of work to improve the hospital’s greenspaces and outdoor facilities.
The Willow Arch has been designed and built by willow artist and sculptor Geoff Forest, and it will be surrounded by flowers and plants to bring structure, colour and scent year-round.

Successful Outcomes for Equipu Service Users
Since 2002, the Equipu Community Equipment Partnership has been providing equipment and assistive technologies to help vulnerable people to live as independently and comfortably as possible in their own home.
Equipment provided includes items to help daily living and mobility, and can include seating, beds, mattresses and moving and handling equipment for those with more complex needs.
