TEC Clinics help take the fear out of technology
You’re probably reading this article on a laptop or mobile device. We use technology routinely across most areas of our lives now. But for many people, technology can be a barrier to the wider community, as well as a welcome lifeline. While tech devices can support people to access care, support and social connection, a lack of awareness and understanding of what’s available and how to use tech can be a real hurdle.
Helping with concerns about vaping and young people
In recent years there has been a steep increase in the prevalence of young people taking up vaping.
In Scotland children as young as 11 years old have said they have used vapes. By the time they are 15 years old, around a third of young people report having tried it. (1)
In response to this concern, Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Health Improvement team has developed several resources relating to vaping and young people.

For Loneliness Awareness Week (9 to 15 June,) we’re highlighting help for our Deaf patients to help combat loneliness and isolation.
Imagine being on holiday and falling ill. You find yourself needing medical attention, only to discover that most of the health and social care staff cannot communicate with you. You struggle to understand and feel isolated and powerless. This scenario is temporary for most, but for Deaf people, particularly British Sign Language (BSL) users, it’s a daily reality.
