The last issue of Partnership Matters of 2024 gives us an update on the Parkhead Hub that’s due to open early in the new year. You can watch a short video that explains how the local community have been involved with it. Power of Attorney Day was in November and we are encouraging everyone to start having conversations about having a PoA in place.
Partnership Matters - July/August 2023
Our July/August edition features a message from our Chief Officer, Susanne Millar; you can read about our HSCP’s new £72 million Parkhead Health and Care Hub, whose construction is well under way; our ‘Circles of Support’ project is featured, and we celebrate our HSCP Glasgow City Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service’s Crisis Outreach Service which was the winner of the Nursing Team of the Year Award, and Linda Doonan, Nurse Team Leader who was a finalist for Mental Health Nurse of the Year.

Our January/February edition features a message from our Chief Officer, Susanne Millar, where she talks about the significant financial challenge that our services face this coming year. The briefing also includes the launch of our new Maximising Independence video which showcases how people and organisations are putting the Maximising Independence approach into practice across the city. In our first edition of 2025 the Partnership Matters Briefing starts off with an update on the UK’s first drug consumption facility, The Thistle, which opened on the 13 January. Also, the new Parkhead Hub opened on a phased return, read all about how that is going in our newsletter. Partnership Matters Briefing - March/April 2024
In her last issue of Partnership Matters as our HSCP’s Chief Officer, Susanne Millar reflects in a video message about her time in Social Work and then the HSCP before she takes up her new role of Chief Executive of Glasgow City Council. Also featured this month, our Staff Awards for Excellence 2024 took place which recognise and celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’. Our residential Care Homes have launched “Meaningful Connections” which aims to create positive connections for the residents with family, friends, staff and their local community.
Maximising Independence projects – supporting people and communities
As the maximising independence approach continues to become our ‘business as usual’ way of doing things across the HSCP, it’s helping us to achieve a fair and easier way for people to access support and prioritise what’s most important to them. Two particular maximising independence projects are already having an impact.
