Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)’s Community Respiratory Team (CRT) provides specialist support to people living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in their own homes. The service helps people stay well at home, avoid unnecessary hospital stays and recover safely with the right support.

Our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is proud to highlight the work of the Family Wellbeing Hub, a developing partnership model designed to support parents and carers of children and young people experiencing mental health challenges, including suicidal crisis.

Families have highlighted that they often feel overwhelmed when navigating their child’s distress, and many reported limited support for understanding needs, coping at home and managing the emotional strain.

Phlebotomy Service – making it easier for people to get the tests they need

Phlebotomy means taking a small sample of blood using a needle. It helps doctors check your health and diagnose medical conditions. This work is carried out by trained staff called phlebotomists.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)’s Phlebotomy Service provides both clinic appointments and home visits. As well as taking blood samples, staff can check blood pressure, pulse and collect urine samples. It’s a very busy service, taking around 17,500 blood samples every month. All referrals come from GP practices.

Glasgow City Care at Home Service praised by Care Inspectorate

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)’s Care at Home Service received very positive results following a Care Inspectorate inspection carried out between 19 January and 4 February 2026.

This was one of the most detailed inspections the service has had. Inspectors spent a lot of time visiting services, speaking with people and reviewing how the service works across all areas. The results clearly show the hard work, professionalism and teamwork of everyone involved.

Parkhead Hub marks International Women’s Day

Our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Health Improvement staff in the North East Locality hosted a community event celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) in the Parkhead Hub on 9 March 2026.

The event highlighted some of the services, support and opportunities available to women locally, while also celebrating the achievements and experiences of women across Glasgow.

Representatives from Glasgow Life, GEMAP Financially Included and the GAMH North East Carers also hosted stalls and engaged with attendees.

Faster treatment for care home residents across Glasgow

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)’s Care Home Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Team has made a real difference to how urgent care is delivered in residential care homes.

The team can now give the first dose of antibiotics at the point of assessment, rather than waiting for treatment to start later. This means residents get the care they need more quickly and avoids unnecessary delays.

Glasgow marks World Suicide Prevention Day

This year, we’re continuing with the theme of ‘Creating Hope Through Action’ and encouraging people to talk about suicide and find out more about suicide prevention activities.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) hosts NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Mental Health Board-Wide Services, and we’re celebrating our mental health nursing staff who were successful at the Mental Health Nursing Forum Scotland Awards held on 6 October.

The Awards recognise the significant contribution that nurses make to the modernisation of Mental Health services across Scotland, increasingly in the context of the integration of health and social care.
