Free information sessions on home technology available

Published:

Technology Enabled Care and Support (TECS) helps people use technology to live more independently and safely in their own homes.

TECS offers a range of resources and guidance to help individuals incorporate technology into their daily lives. As part of their outreach efforts, the team is now offering free sessions around the city where people can learn about TECS and test out specialist equipment designed to enhance connectivity and independence at home.

The drop-in sessions are available for anyone who would like free, friendly face-to-face help and advice with home technology for themselves or a family member.

The sessions are taking place at libraries across the city where some of our friendly staff are available to help people with everyday home technology such as smart speakers, mobile phones, tablets, smart plugs and bulbs.

Some of the most popular topics during the sessions include how to get onto the internet to stay in touch with friends and family, make appointments, pay bills or join in with things that interest you.
The team has also helped with questions and support around doorbell cameras and technology devices that help people stay safe and live independently at home.

Anyone can come along, there’s no need to make an appointment. Find out more about by visiting TECS Information and Resources.
