Kinship Newsletter Re-Launched

Published:

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Kinship Teams across the city are delighted to announce that we’ve relaunched our Kinship Newsletter and it’s now online

We want to celebrate the brilliant and dedicated care that families give children and young people every day of the year, and share support, advice and ideas among the kinship community.

In our first edition, June 2021, we highlight some of the new developments in the pipeline, and have a section on options for school leavers with links to some training resources.

We’ve worked with our third sector partners Children 1st and Quarriers to develop this newsletter and also set up an email address so carers and young people can send us ideas, photos, information and stories that they’d like to be included in future newsletters - please send anything they’d like considered to KinshipNews@glasgow.gov.uk.

We hope that the new Kinship Newsletter will help our kinship families link with others across the city, and that we can provide useful information and advice tailored to people’s needs.

Lorna Kelly, Kinship Team Leader in our HSCP’s North West locality said, “We’re really excited about this relaunch of the newsletter, and hope families find it useful. We really want carers’ ideas for future editions and are looking forward to hearing what people think of the new format.”

Jim Quinn, Kinship Team Leader in our North East locality said, “It’s great that we now have three dedicated kinship teams across the city, and the newsletter should help our carers to feel connected to the wider kinship community in Glasgow.”

June Hogg, Kinship Team Leader in our South locality said, “There’s lots of developments in kinship just now, and we hope kinship families enjoy reading about some of the plans we have for the future in the newsletter”.
