Launch of 16 + Review

Published:

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is excited to announce that we’re embarking on a strategic review and re-design of 16+ accommodation and support services.

We strive to ensure that 16+ accommodation and support services meet the needs of all of Glasgow’s young people. Our vision is to support young people to maintain stability and security to enable them to flourish and meet their potential.

Young people’s participation will run throughout the review, and we want to start by asking young people to complete a simple survey. Our staff will complete the survey with young people who are currently accessing 16+ accommodation and support services.

We also want to try and reach young people who may have lived in 16+ accommodation in Glasgow but no longer get support from Social Work Services. If you know someone who meets this criteria then please forward them the following web link below to try and help us reach as many young people as possible: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/XLJKWO/

Liz Simpson, Head of Children’s Services (North West), commented: “It’s really important that we do things differently to get it right for young people when they leave care or become homeless. This review will help us get the views of the young people who use or have used the service. The feedback will help us shape how we provide this service. We’d encourage anyone who has ever lived in 16+ accommodation and support services to complete the survey, or if you know someone who has then please pass the survey link onto them. We welcome all feedback on what’s working, what isn’t working so well and what we could do to improve the service."

Throughout the review we’ll be running events and development sessions with young people, social work staff, our partners and other stakeholders. If you’re interested in getting involved further or know a young person who would like to, then please contact Rebecca.Riley@glasgow.gov.uk for more information.
