New Leaflet - A guide to paying for your care home

A new ‘Guide to Paying for your Care Home’ booklet has been developed to support service users and families to navigate through this financial assessment process.

Finances can be a complex area involving multiple people and services and it was recognised that by creating this booklet it would support some of our most vulnerable service users and those caring for them. The booklet explains the financial effect of moving into a Residential or Nursing care home setting. It outlines the financial assessment process and aims to support the reader with their understanding of the financial assessment and the type of information that will be requested. Anthony Leebody, Senior Finance Officer for the Financial Assessment and Income Team commented 'It was imperative that we used our own experiences but listened to the feedback from the various parties we engage with in relation to finances. This feedback allowed us to shape the content of the booklet. The booklet will assist colleagues on the frontline but significantly it will assist the recipients who will be able to review the content at their convenience. I would like to pass on my thanks to all those involved in pulling this together.'
