Our HSCP’s community nurses recognised for their long service by QNIS

Published: | Nursing

Community nurses working with Glasgow City Health and Social Care (HSCP) Partnership were presented with Long Service Awards from the Queen's Institute for Community Nursing Scotland (QNIS) on 27 November.

All community nurses with over 21 years’ service were invited to attend an afternoon tea at Glasgow’s City Chambers. One hundred and eighty nurses attended the event and received certificates and badges.

Hosting the event, Julia Egan, our HSCP’s Chief Nurse, thanked all the nurses and presented them with a QNIS certificate of recognition and badge.

Julia said: “I want to thank all of you for your outstanding service. You should all be very proud of what you have achieved over your many years of service, serving our communities and supporting people at home, in clinics and in their own workplaces.

“Year after year community nurses keep going through changes and reorganisations, always putting patients first. And that’s why the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland gives awards to those who have served 21 years or more in the community.”

Emma Legge, QNIS Professional Nurse Lead, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Glasgow City HSCP to host this event to celebrate the contribution of community nurses and midwives. The awardees should be very proud of their achievement, and we’re all truly grateful for their commitment to providing quality health care to their communities.”

An attendee said: “Thank you very much for a wonderful afternoon. I was made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed meeting my colleagues at the awards service. I felt very honoured.”
