Dementia Strategy
Glasgow City’s Dementia Strategy 2016-19 is available.
The Dementia Strategy was approved by the Glasgow City Integration Joint Board on 10 May 2016.
The three-year Strategy and its overall vision has been developed for the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership in collaboration with Alzheimer Scotland, and with help from people with dementia, their families, carers and a wide range of stakeholders.
The Dementia Strategy 2016-19 outlines commitments to improve health and social care services for people with dementia, recognising that a diagnosis of dementia should be the gateway to information, support, care and treatment. It also highlights the aspiration of a Dementia Friendly Glasgow and aims to encourage and strengthen communities to ensure that over time there is capacity to support people affected by dementia so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life.
The Strategy provides a framework for action for the whole community and as such engagement with Glasgow City’s Community Planning Partnership is desirable. It offers suggestions, sign-posting and good practice examples to stimulate activity throughout the city.
