Supporting Adults and Young People Experiencing Emotional Distress
The beginning of September saw the Compassionate Distress Response Service (CDRS), a support service for adults experiencing emotional distress, celebrate the first anniversary of its daytime support service. The service operates from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with referrals from General Practitioners (GPs) and their multi-disciplinary teams.
Home Carer Completes Charity Sky Dive
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Home Carer Colin McKechnie recently completed a 10,000ft sky dive raising £900 for the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
Colin said: “In addition to my job as a Home Carer I also work as a Healthcare Support Worker in the Children’s Hospital. I previously spent nine years in the army and was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Glasgow Marks Suicide Prevention Week
This month, from 6 – 11 September, Scotland is standing together during Suicide Prevention Week to raise awareness and shine a light on suicide and what we can do to keep each other safe.
In Glasgow, our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) will be running a week-long campaign surrounding World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September, to raise awareness in the city about suicide prevention and the training available to anyone who would like to learn how to recognise and support someone at risk of suicide.

New Health and Care Hub for North East Glasgow Gets Planning Consent
Plans for a new £67 million health and care hub for the North East of Glasgow have moved a step closer after councillors approved plans.
The new North East Hub Health and Care Centre is set to be built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital.
