New Mural Brings Life to Leverndale Hospital

A stunning new mural has been unveiled at Glasgow’s Leverndale Hospital as part of a wider project to transform the campus, improving both indoor and outdoor spaces, increasing greenspace and biodiversity and improving the environment for our patients, staff and the local community.

Glasgow Nurseries Continuing on their Gender Equality Journey 

Health Improvement staff from Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) have developed an online training programme supporting Early Learning Establishments (ELCs) in Glasgow to work towards Gender Friendly Nursery Accreditation.

In-person Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries Services Restarted

Three Glasgow Life libraries have welcomed the restart of in-person Macmillan @ Glasgow Libraries services this month. From 3 August, face-to-face cancer support and information are available at Royston, Partick and Castlemilk libraries.

Health and Social Care Locality Plans Now Available

The Glasgow City Integration Joint Board’s Strategic Plan and Locality Plans cover health and social care services across Glasgow City. Each of the three local areas (North East, North West and South) that make up Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) develop their own Locality Plan with partners including patients, service users, carers and the third and independent sectors. 

MCR Pathways: Sign Up and Help a Young Person Succeed

Mentoring programme MCR Pathways are hoping to reach even more young people in 2020 and it’s easy to get involved. The MCR team recruit and train volunteer mentors who are matched with a young person based on personality, interests and experiences. Mentors meet with their young person in school for just one hour a week and provide a compassionate, listening ear.

Welcome to the December 2019 Newsletter. This month we recognise the achievements of staff at the NHSGGC Celebrating Success Awards. In the Public Health Local Staff Award category, the Prison Smokefree Services Team, hosted by Glasgow City HSCP, received the Celebrating Success Local Staff Award.

We also look at the range of activities to increase awareness of dementia and other supports for mental health.
