Glasgow’s Safer Drug Consumption Facility, Open 9am to 9pm, 365 days a year
In the year The Thistle has been operational, 575 unique individuals have registered and accessed the service 11,348 times with 7,827 injecting episodes within the using space.
The service provides wound care, personal care (e.g. shower and clothes store) and injecting advice to reduce harm. Over the course of the year, there have been 13, 368 of these interventions.

Creating Hope Together – Glasgow City Suicide Prevention Partnership
On 22 January 2026, the Scottish Government and COSLA launched the new 2026 to 2029 action plan for Creating Hope Together. The new plan sets out Scotland’s continued commitment to reducing suicide and improving support for people and communities affected by suicide.
It builds on the first three years of Scotland’s suicide prevention strategy, and is based around four key strategic outcomes:

Glasgow City HSCP Staff Awards for Excellence 2026 – Well done to all!
Dedicated staff and volunteers from across Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) were recognised at our Staff Awards for Excellence (SAFE) 2026, held at the City Chambers on Friday, 13 March.
The awards recognise and celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’ in their work in several categories. Both health and social work staff working within our HSCP were eligible to be nominated. There was also a category for volunteers, where individuals not employed by us could also be nominated.
