Glasgow's Safer Drug Consumption Facility is called 'The Thistle'

In September 2023 Glasgow City Integration Joint Board (IJB) approved a plan to implement a Safer Drug Consumption Facility in Hunter Street Health and Care centre.

Safer drug consumption facilities (SDCFs) are clean, hygienic environments where people can consume drugs, obtained elsewhere, under the supervision of trained health and social care professionals, reducing the risk of overdose and infectious diseases whilst offering support and access to healthcare and social care services.

What makes you happy?  Looking forward to travelling and seeing new places, spending time with family and friends, taking up a favourite sport or relaxing at home with a box set? 

When we think about what makes us happy, we often think about the big things because we can take for granted that the essentials are in place – like living somewhere you can call home, where you feel safe, doing things you enjoy and spending time with the people and things you care about.

Glasgow City HSCP Staff Awards for Excellence 2024 - Winners and Commendations

Glasgow City HSCP’s (Health and Social Care Partnership) Staff Awards for Excellence 2024 took place as a virtual event this year on 13 March. The awards recognise and celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’ in their work in a number of categories.

Both health and social work staff working within our HSCP were eligible to be nominated. There was also a category for volunteers, for which individuals not employed by the HSCP could also be nominated.

Both Health and Social Work staff working within our HSCP, whether in a frontline or business support role, were eligible to be nominated. There was also an awards category for volunteers, and individuals outwith the HSCP could be nominated.
