New Partnership with Glasgow Carers Launched Ahead of Carers Rights Day

On the lead up to Carers Rights Day on 21 November, our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership hosted an event to mark a new partnership with Glasgow Carers; a carer’s led group, founded by Marie McGinn in April 2024, to amplify the voices of carers.

The event was held at Glasgow City Chambers and brought together carers, HSCP staff, carers organisations and community representatives.

Collaboration brings new Breathing Space bench to Gartnavel Hospital

Through a collaborative effort, our Glasgow City Suicide Prevention Partnership and other partners have unveiled a new ‘Breathing Space’ bench at Gartnavel Hospital, near Hyndland railway station. Designed to provide a quiet space for reflection and conversation, the bench aims to support mental wellbeing in the community.

Parkhead Hub Update - April 2025

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) new Parkhead Hub opened in January 2025. The Hub integrates health and social care services and community facilities including a café, and the relocated Parkhead Library.

Members of the local community and staff are enjoying the fantastic new facilities provided by the Hub, which replaces several older buildings in the area.

Maximising Independence projects – supporting people and communities

As the maximising independence approach continues to become our ‘business as usual’ way of doing things across the HSCP, it’s helping us to achieve a fair and easier way for people to access support and prioritise what’s most important to them. Two particular maximising independence projects are already having an impact.

Project SEACH applications are open which is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions to gain work experience and develop skills. The Connected Care and Wellbeing Community Alexa Trial has exceeded expectations, leading to additional funding for a second phase.
