Parkhead Hub Update – February 2025
Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) new Parkhead Hub opened in a phased approach on Monday 27 January 2025. The Hub integrates health and social care services and community facilities, including a café and the relocated Parkhead Library.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) new Parkhead Hub building was completed in November, and the process of getting the building ready for staff and the public is well underway.

The new Parkhead Hub is due to be handed over by the contractors BAM in November, and a period of equipping and commissioning is being undertaken before opening to the public in early 2025.

Supporting GP practices with their acute prescribing
An acute prescription is medication given to treat a sudden and short-term condition, also known as an acute condition, such as antibiotics to treat an infection. They’re also used when starting a new medication if there needs to be a review before you start taking it long term.

Working together to ensure the sustainability of General Practice
In Glasgow City we have 140 GP surgeries, hosting around 617 GPs, in addition to other clinical staff, caring for 791,000 registered patients. Each GP surgery has a Practice Manager who is vital to the successful running of the surgery.
