Parkhead Hub marks International Women’s Day

Published:

Our Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) Health Improvement staff in the North East Locality hosted a community event celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) in the Parkhead Hub on 9 March 2026.

The event highlighted some of the services, support and opportunities available to women locally, while also celebrating the achievements and experiences of women across Glasgow.

Representatives from Glasgow Life, GEMAP Financially Included and the GAMH North East Carers also hosted stalls and engaged with attendees.

The event was held to mark International Women’s Day and shine a light on the breadth of support available to women in the North East. It also aimed to celebrate women while promoting equality, empowerment and inclusion in line with IWD themes.

The event was a success, and it raised awareness of key services supporting women’s health, wellbeing, financial inclusion and caring responsibilities.

Staff, partners and community organisations across the city are encouraged to continue championing women’s health, equality and inclusion throughout the year, not only on International Women’s Day.

If your organisation supports women locally, consider linking in with the Health Improvement Team or Parkhead Hub to explore future opportunities for collaboration, joint events or community outreach.

By working together, we can strengthen awareness of the support available to women in our communities, ensure they feel informed and included and continue building safer and more empowering spaces for women across Glasgow.
