Recognition for our Mental Health Nursing Staff at National Awards

Published:

Congratulations to Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) staff who were recognised at a recent national event for their excellent contribution to mental health nursing.

The Mental Health Nursing Forum (Scotland) celebrated excellence in mental health practice at a conference and awards ceremony held on 9 October at Glasgow City Chambers.

Our HSCP’s Thistle Centre Team (Safer Drug Consumption) won the award in the Community Mental Health Team category at the event. The Thistle is the first Safer Drug Consumption Facility (SDCF) in Scotland and the United Kingdom.  SDCFs are supervised healthcare settings where people can inject drugs, obtained elsewhere, in the presence of trained health and social care professionals in clean, hygienic environments

In addition, our HSCP’s Adult Practice Development Nurse Team for Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Service (ADRS) and Prison Healthcare were highly commended in the Jonathan MacLennan Award for Practice Development category. The recognition was for the development of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Nursing Core Competency and Learning and Education Frameworks.

Lorraine Cribbin, our HSCP’s Interim Chief Nurse said: “Congratulations to both teams. I’m so proud of you all for the work that you do every day caring for our patients.”
