DFN Project Search - Applications opening January 2026!
DFN Project Search is an innovative and exciting supported internship programme for young people aged between 18 to 29 years with learning disabilities and / or autistic spectrum conditions. It is designed to increase the numbers of young people who require additional support to get and keep paid employment and is delivered in over 500 sites across the world. This includes our two sites based here in Glasgow.
DFN Project Search is delivered within large employers who are called host businesses. In Glasgow these are NHS Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the University of Strathclyde. It is a full time programme and participants, called interns, are onsite Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm. During this time interns will be placed within three different roles with the supported internship each lasting ten weeks in different parts of the business. They will learn new skills and improve their confidence and ability to compete for a job.
Recruitment for DFN Project Search will begin in January 2026 for the next academic year commencing August 2026.
