HSCP to attend Scotland’s national Meet the Buyer event

Published:

Our HSCP will be attending Meet the Buyer 2026, Scotland’s largest free procurement event, taking place in Glasgow on Tuesday 2 June 2026. The event is organised by the Supplier Development Programme (SDP) and brings together public sector buyers, partners and suppliers from across Scotland.

Meet the Buyer gives organisations a chance to speak directly with public bodies about upcoming work, contracts and opportunities. It is particularly aimed at small and medium sized businesses and third sector organisations, but anyone with an interest in public sector procurement is welcome to attend.

Why this matters

As a Health and Social Care Partnership, we work with a wide range of providers to deliver services that support people across Glasgow. Attending events like Meet the Buyer helps us strengthen relationships with current and potential providers, understand what the market can offer, and explore how we can work together to meet local needs.

The event also supports wider goals around community wealth building, helping public sector organisations connect with suppliers who can contribute to local economies and communities.

What happens at Meet the Buyer

Meet the Buyer is an in person event where suppliers can:

  • meet buyers and decision makers from public sector organisations
  • learn about upcoming projects and contract opportunities
  • ask questions and get a better understanding of how public procurement works
  • hear from speakers about future plans and priorities

There will also be practical support on topics such as bidding for work through Public Contracts Scotland, helping organisations feel more confident about getting involved.

Our role at the event

By attending, we want to:

  • listen to providers and understand the challenges they face
  • share information about how we work with suppliers and partners
  • encourage a diverse range of organisations to engage with public sector opportunities
  • support fair, open and transparent procurement processes

While this event is mainly of interest to providers, it also matters to the wider public. Strong partnerships and a healthy provider market help us deliver better, more sustainable services for people and communities across the city.

Rachel Mackay, Interim Head of Commissioning, said “We know that strong, positive relationships with providers are essential to delivering high quality health and social care services. Attending Meet the Buyer gives us a chance to listen, learn and connect with organisations and to help them to be ‘tender ready’ for social care services that support people and communities across Glasgow.”
