The event will inform people with learning disabilities about what they can do to reduce their risks of cancer, and they will learn about the screening programmes available.

The event is a road show event with workshops, stalls and a live performance from the ‘Good life’ group.  There will also be representation from a host of organisations providing information about cancer prevention.

This event is aimed at people with learning disabilities and their carers.

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s Facing the Future Together (FTFT) Staff Awards ceremony took place on the morning of 12 September at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. The Awards recognise and thank individual staff and teams within the Partnership for ‘going the extra mile’ in their work within a number of categories, especially in situations when they or their service have been under additional pressure or when they have implemented an improvement idea that has yielded significant benefit.

For many years there have been mixed messages around drinking alcohol in pregnancy, but a new hard-hitting campaign by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde aims to clear up the confusion once and for all. “No alcohol, no alcohol harm” is the theme of an information campaign, aimed at pregnant women and those thinking about having a baby, to highlight the risk of their child being born with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
