Item No 19 - Mental Health 2 Ward Design Build Finance and Maintain (DBFM) Scheme
To advise the Integration Joint Board of the proposals approved by the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board at its meeting on Tuesday, 19 April 2016, for the development of two new fit for purpose wards at the Stobhill site procured through the Hub West Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) route to conclude the agreed inpatient redesign programme in North Glasgow that would see the withdrawal of services from both Parkhead Hospital and Birdston Care Home.

Our July/August edition features a message from our Chief Officer, Susanne Millar; you can read about our HSCP’s new £72 million Parkhead Health and Care Hub, whose construction is well under way; our ‘Circles of Support’ project is featured, and we celebrate our HSCP Glasgow City Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service’s Crisis Outreach Service which was the winner of the Nursing Team of the Year Award, and Linda Doonan, Nurse Team Leader who was a finalist for Mental Health Nurse of the Year.

Our January/February edition features a message from our Chief Officer, Susanne Millar, where she talks about the significant financial challenge that our services face this coming year. The briefing also includes the launch of our new Maximising Independence video which showcases how people and organisations are putting the Maximising Independence approach into practice across the city. In her last issue of Partnership Matters as our HSCP’s Chief Officer, Susanne Millar reflects in a video message about her time in Social Work and then the HSCP before she takes up her new role of Chief Executive of Glasgow City Council. Also featured this month, our Staff Awards for Excellence 2024 took place which recognise and celebrate individual staff, teams and projects who have ‘gone the extra mile’. Our residential Care Homes have launched “Meaningful Connections” which aims to create positive connections for the residents with family, friends, staff and their local community.
Consultations and Engagement
Periodically the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and Glasgow City Integration Joint Board have formal consultation and engagement opportunities for people and organisations to share their views on specific proposals being developed for health and social care in Glasgow City.
