Work Set to Begin on New £72 Million Health and Care Hub for Glasgow’s East End
Work on a new £72 million health and care centre for the north east of Glasgow will begin in spring, after the Scottish Government gave final approval for the ambitious project.
The North East Hub in Parkhead, will be Scotland’s first working net zero carbon health and social care facility.

Plans for a new £67 million health and care hub for the North East of Glasgow have moved a step closer.
The Scottish Government has today approved the Outline Business Case for the new North East Hub Health and Care Centre which will be built on the site of the former Parkhead Hospital.
New Health and Care Hub in North East Glasgow moves Closer
The prospect of a new £64.3 million state-of-the-art Health and Care Centre for the North East of Glasgow moved one step closer on Tuesday, 2 June.
An interim Board meeting of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde agreed the outline business cases which will now be submitted to the Scottish Government’s Capital Investment Group for funding.
The centre, which is proposed for the Parkhead Hospital site, will bring together the key supports from a range of health and care professionals to tackle health inequalities, improve health and contribute to social regeneration.

As part of the North East Hub (Parkhead Hub) Health and Care Centre project and our commitment towards community investment, we are seeking to deliver the next hub West Scotland Helping Hands Initiative within the North East / Parkhead area of Glasgow.

In this issue we feature the official openings of the new Maryhill Health and Care Centre and the new Glasgow Psychological Trauma Centre. An exciting new development is the consultation on the proposed development of a Health and Social Care Hub at Parkhead in April and May. We also feature work with Young Carers and the Children and Young People Services Plan 2017-20.
Partnership Matters Briefing - May/June 2025
In our May/June 2025 edition of the Partnership Matters Briefing, we cover many recent celebrations. These include the success of our staff at the NHSGGC Celebrating Success Awards, VE Day celebrations at our residential and day care services and the graduation of this year's Project SEARCH interns. Many have now moved into employment.
Our new Parkhead Hub recently welcomed the local community to a networking day where they could find out more about the Hub and local services.
We also celebrated Carers Week by launching our new Carers Strategy and video.
