A brand-new multi-agency advice and support hub for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness was opened on 24 September in Glasgow’s Argyle Street.

Glasgow City Council, as part of the city's Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), is creating around 200 new posts to cover vital home care, residential care and day care responsibilities.

Staff and service users at the Glasgow City HSCP Chara Centre in Possilpark have been using the good weather during lockdown to maintain the centre’s garden. 

The social work centre provides emergency homeless accommodation for 27 females from all walks of life and cultures.

Families are being encouraged to plan for the future by obtaining Power of Attorneys (POA) to protect the wishes of relatives and friends in the event of illness or accidents.

Staff from care homes across Glasgow came together in April to share their experience of participating in the Red Bag Scheme.

We all need an advocate at some times in our lives. It helps to have someone around to make a difficult phone call, someone who can help write a letter or someone to go with you to a difficult meeting.
