Review of Minor Injuries Services for West Glasgow

The consultation period for making comment on the Minor Injuries review has now finished.

The outcome of the consultation was reported to the Glasgow City Integration Joint Board on 8 November 2017.  The Report is now available.

Previous text for consultation:

Glasgow City Integration Joint Board is responsible for the strategic planning of unplanned health care, which includes minor injuries services.  The Integration Joint Board considered at its meeting on 21 June 2017 proposals to undertake a review of minor injuries services for West Glasgow.

In summary, it is proposed that the review will look at the options for minor injuries services for people in West Glasgow.  It will look at:

  • how accessible minor injuries services are for people in Greater Glasgow and Clyde
  • how many people need to use minor injuries services
  • the money required for minor injuries services and
  • how patients and the public will be involved and engaged in this process.

The service at Yorkhill was closed on a temporary basis last year.

The report to the June 2017 Integration Joint Board is available.  It is proposed that there will be a report back to the meeting of the Integration Joint Board in September 2017 about the review.

Further information about the review will be posted here, including regular updates and how you may submit comments.

There is also further information about minor injury units in Glasgow available.  Additionally you can watch a YouTube video that provides more information.
